Old West Actors for Hire Participants Audition for Zone of Fire

Phoenix, Arizona, May 7, 2010 - Old West Actors for Hire participants will be auditioning for Western actors of all ages to perform in Zone Of Fire, a Western video to be produced by Proofmark Cinema.

Zone of Fire is a docudrama portraying the life of Bat Masterson, a legendary figure of the Old West. The Western is based on his autobiography, Gunfighters of the Western Frontier.

Actors may audition for roles in Zone of Fire from May 30, 2010 through June 6, 2010 in Leander, Texas and Austin, Texas. The shoot will occur in Austin, Texas in spring of 2011.

Actors auditioning for a Western role— leading roles, cowboys, cowgirls, Indians, saloon ladies, lawmen, and other Western characters— will read a ‘side’ while being videotaped wearing their favorite cowboy garb, including hat, boots, and leather (but not firearms). Actors will have 30 minutes to audition and discuss the video with the producers.

Rickman Fish, creator and webmaster for Old West Actors for Hire, says, “The Zone of Fire project will be modeled as a Cooperative Independent Film, or CIF, a new concept in independent film productions. In addition to talent, the project will seek performers and crew members who can bring something ‘extra’ to the project, such as a Western prop, Old West set construction skills, Western covered wagons, or mid-19th century weapons.”

“In addition,” adds Fish, “payments will be allocated after the production is sold and based on a cooperative type arrangement. The concept of cooperative payment distribution will be discussed with the producers and actors, production crew, and investors before casting and filming.”
