Jay Tortorici, also know as "5 Card", began his acting career in 1984 with the Janesville Fife and Drum Corp. During these early days, Jay performed in parades and 18th century historical re-enacting events. In 1993 Jay joined the Northwest Territory Alliance (NWTA) historical re-enactment group for the Revolutionary War and the 4th Continental Light Dragoons. He has traveled through out the midwest re-enacting historical battles and everyday military camp life in an historically accurate and educational way.
From 2000 to 2002, Jay organized and performed a re-enactment of the 'Life And Times Of Billy The Kid' at the historical Milton House in Milton, Wisconsin. Jay also appears in the western movie "Redemption" produced by CasMor Productions and the revolutionary war drama "Liberty" a PBS documentary. Additionally, Jay performed in "The Patriot" starring Mel Gibson and "Last Of The Mohicans" starring Daniel Day Lewis and Wes Stude.
In 2002, Jay moved to Arizona and focused on the life style of the Old West, specifically the Earp family and Tombstone. He has re-enacted parts in the Gunfight At The OK Corral with the Tombstone Cast. In 2004, Jay joined the award winning re-enactment group, the Arizona Gunfighters and began studying the lives of the Earp and the Mclaury families.
Jay has been insistent on the quality of his costuming and the era correctness of the characters he portrays, since the beginning of his acting career.
Jay is available for modeling, meet and greet events, filming, educational and fun events, and works well with other actors and actresses of the era to perform in front of any size audience.
Jay is fully costumed for an 1800's era outlaw, cowboy, and townsperson. He is a collector of fine firearms of the era and is fully leather adorned.
Jay is available for local Phoenix engagements or will travel to the event or filming upon contract.
